Thereafter, Friends CC tried their best to avoid play and stall the game to salvage a point for turning up. Continental CC's temperament and behavior through all of this was excellent as they stayed away from controversy and altercations. It was an important lesson on handling off-the-field distractions (& on-the-field sledging) for a young team which should stand them in good stead going into more high pressure games in the next round. The experience has only made Continental even stronger.
Eventually when play began, Continental was set 73 runs to get off 18 overs as per DL method. Continental openers were set to finish the game nice and early by smacking the ball around the park, when poor over rate conspired with bad light to prevent further play from happening. Overall, Continental's performance is coming together nicely and expect the team to step up their performances and intensity as we head into the Super 8s after the long weekend. The schedule for the Super 8s is expected to be out early next week. Until then, have a great long weekend. GO CONTINENTAL!!!!! Summary: Friends CC - 116 all out in 33.4 overs (Anil - 31, Devansh - 3/18, Krishna - 4/15) Continental - 36/0 in 5.4 overs Result - Game Abandoned due to bad light Full Scorecard here
